Knit Blanket--Hailey's Afghan

I met Hailey and her family when she was a freshman in high school. She has grown into a beautiful young woman who tries to live life to its fullest.  Recently, she got married and I designed this afghan as a special gift for her.  Fish-scale lace and eyelet spots represent the sea and stars, two of her interests, and turn bulky yarn light and airy.  The afghan is knit is one piece on circular needles so it doesn’t get too heavy while you knit.  The combination of bulky yarn and a lacy pattern help this afghan work up quickly.

Finished width: 46.5” [118 cm]
Finished Length: 54” [137 cm] from top to bottom of middle Eyelet Spots Pattern.

Knit Picks Mighty Stitch Super Bulky (100 g, 44 yds, 20% Superwash Wool/80 % Acrylic), 21 skeins [CYCA 6], Navy
US size 15 [10 mm] 36in [91 cm] circular needle
Tapestry needle

Gauge:
8 sts and 12 rows = 4” [10 cm] in Eyelet Spots pattern.
